Park condition, website, etc…

Folks, we here in Bell County and some other counties in southeast KY got hit with a pretty vicious snow storm. We had 6 inches in the valleys and in some places over 2 1/2 feet on the highest elevations (check our snow video to check it out!). Needless to say, we just got the roads cleared a few days ago, and it’s probably a guarantee that the park is in bad shape trail wise. I’ve not rode the park since the ice storm (planning on doing it one day this week), but if youre down in some of the wooded trails, it’s probably a good idea to carry a chainsaw if you have one in case there are downed trees blocking the trails. We hope to get a club work day on a warm weekend coming up and will let everyone know as soon as we schedule it. Anyone that can come out and help us clear the trails is greatly appreciated. We will keep you posted.

Also, we are currently working on getting Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park a new website up. Until then, Im working on a page for the club site to give everyone some info about the park. I will hopefully have that up this evening or tomorrow. Until then, you can either email me at hollercrawlers@hotmail.com or call me at 606-302-1943. Again, we will keep everyone posted.

Anyway, don’t forget that dues are coming up in January. Check the INFO link to download a membership application. All dues go to helping pay for club related events and equipment. We greatly appreciate everyone who joins and contributes to what we are trying to do here in Bell County. Also, our merchandise page is updated.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Look forward to sharing some trails with everyone in 2010!

Jon

Some updates…

Howdy everyone! What a busy day.

First I woke up this morning to dozens of phone calls and emails from people who watched the Fishers ATV World show and wanted info on the club and park. I love talking to everyone about what we have here and actually had over an hour-long conversation with a guy from Tazewell County, VA about trail systems in KY and VA. Then it was off to help out my friend Ben in Emergency Management to help deliver water to some folks in need around the ATV park. A recent snow storm knocked out power and water to the communities around the park and others parts of the county, so we had our hands full taking drinking water to folks who hadn’t had any water in days. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.

Our website once again got a lot of hits, which is awesome! Once again I can’t thank Brian Fisher enough for all that show has done as far as helping us get the word out. Its been unreal.

I took a break from answering phone calls and emails to add some stuff to the new site. All the links should have content on them. Make sure to check out our media gallery as we have a TON of pictures and videos for you to enjoy!

Also, if you have a Facebook or Myspace, make sure to add us by clicking the icons near the top next to the word “connect”.

Thanks for the great responses on the show and I hope if you’re a first time visitor that you will click on the Forum link and come say howdy to all the Holler Crawlers!

See ya’ll on the trail!

Jon

Howdy everyone!

Well, the new website is up and running, but obviously we are still in the process of adding all the content back. I want to thank Ryan for all the work he’s put into the site, he did a great job and we greatly appreciate it.

I’m writing this the night before the re-airing of the Fishers ATV World episode, so I am sure the site will have a lot of traffic tomorrow. If you are new around the site and need info about the club or riding in Bell County, the best place to get it is on our forum, which you can visit by clicking the link above. Registering is easy and just takes a minute.  Or you can contact us at hollercrawlers@hotmail.com.

Thanks for visiting and keep checking back as I will be adding a lot of info back to this site over the next few days.

From the Holler Crawlers to your family…Merry Christmas!

Jon (BCO)
